DESIGNED FOR THE FOLLOWING INDUSTRIES:
The Government of Ghana has placed significant efforts into growing the renewable energy sector. In order to achieve this, the Renewable Energy Act, 2011 was passed as well as the Energy Commission Regulations on Local Content. These acts and regulations aim to create an enabling regulatory environment to attract private sector involvement in the development, management and utilisation of renewable energy in an efficient and environmentally sustainable manner. Additionally, the law has created an enabling environment for investment with various incentives in place and funding assistance available. Local participation is a key driver in order to enhance employment among the Ghanaian populace, promote business opportunities and generate revenue for Ghana.
However, companies currently operating in the sector, as well as new entrants are facing challenges with regards to the licensing process and procedures, local content compliance and reporting, and general clarity of the act and regulations.
During this exclusive Masterclass, we will provide clarity on the Act, Regulations and Policies that govern the Renewable Energy Industry in Ghana, including the Renewable Energy Act, Local Content Regulations and Tax regime .
